Little Otters Program is a nature and play-based program for children ages 5-8 located here at Emery Farm. We offer a balanced curriculum learning through play and exploration in nature. We teach literacy using the Fundations program and Reading and Writing Workshop models. Mathematics is taught using the Wild Math program. Our curriculum focuses on teaching about the natural and farm environments, as well as focusing on social skills to foster kindness, respect, resiliency, empathy, and a love for living things. We ensure a 1:6 teacher/student ratio or better.
Emery Farm is an idyllic setting for Little Otters. Our beautiful indoor classroom is located above the Market and Café. We also have an outdoor structure and utilize the trails and other natural aspects for learning and play space.
This program follows the school year calendar.
Hours Monday–Thursday
Kindergarten 8:30am–12:30pm
First Grade 8:30am–12:30 or 2:00pm
Second Grade 8:30am–2:00pm
This allows our students time to practice social skills and learn with a low student to teacher ratio, while also having ample family time.
